World Spine Day 2016

Ever wondered how they come up with all those International & National whatever days? So do I, and I’d love for someone to tell me.

Having said that, this Sunday is World Spine Day.

For World Spine Day, the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia (CAA) is encouraging people to ‘Straighten Up and Move’.

‘Straighten Up’

Everyday I see poor posture causing things like headaches, back pain and fatigue by putting pressure on your spine.  In many cases this is easily prevented.

I’ve included a link where you can download some simple exercises designed to help improve posture, stabilise core muscle groups and enhance health.

‘And Move’

Our modern lifestyles, such as office work and extended use of computers or mobile devices, may make us far less active and adopt  poor posture.

If youve been to my recent “Supercharge your Health” workshop you would have learnt about the fantastic health benefits of a 30 min daily walk.  Walking is a low impact exercise that helps improve flexibility and mobility.

Heck if you’re a tech freak like me, you can even track all your activities on free smartphone apps and see your fitness improve.  My favorite is Strava, (considered the Facebook for cyclists and runners).  I do have friends on there logging all their walks (not just rides and runs)

If you’re game enough you can even follow me on Strava and see what i get up to. Click here to follow me on Strava

So… Straighten Up and Move… your spine (and your health) will love you for it.

Walk tall and smile lots
