4 Lower Back Core Strengthening Exercises

Lower back pain is one of the most common reasons people decide to visit us.

The key to preventing lower back pain is good posture and strong core muscle strength.   I’ve made a video outlining 4 exercises that can improve core strength,  to minimise lower back pain.

Cat Camel

This exercise is great for  mobilising the lower back

Bird Dog

This exercise is designed to engage core muscles like our abdominals while stimulating balance pathways in our nervous system

Side Bridge

A variation of the plank, this exercise is designed to engage or side abdominals.   Start by doing 4 lots of 15 seconds intervals.  Then move on to doing 2 lots of 30-second intervals.  After you are comfortable with then, you can move to holding the position for 1 minute.

Squat

A great functional exercise utilising many of the of the core muscles.  Always make sure you engage your abdominals to maintain a nice straight back.
